Electric Callboy Rocks Nova Rock, Wanda Delivers
The Nova Rock Festival saw electrifying performances from diverse acts, with Electric Callboy headlining, Wanda bringing their unique energy, and other artists making their mark. The event provided a platform for both established and emerging talents, solidifying its place in the music scene.
Electric Callboy’s Triumphant Headline Set
Afternoon favorites, German Trancecore band Electric Callboy, became a festival headliner, igniting the stage at this year’s Nova Rock in Nickelsdorf. Their performance featured intense mosh parts, booming beats, and their signature humor. Their show marked the end of a very successful festival, set under perfect summer weather.

Nico Sallach and Kevin Ratajczak, the vocal duo of Electric Callboy, energized the crowd with their “Elevator Operator”. The band’s performance combined synth melodies with heavy guitar sounds. The group’s ability to connect with fans solidified their position, proving their right to share the stage with big names. Attendance at music festivals is on the rise, with an expected 25% increase in the next year (Statista, 2024).
Wanda and Other Notable Performances
Wanda captivated the audience with their stage presence. The band played after German rapper Alligatoah. The Viennese band sent a wave of “Amore” throughout the crowd, offering hits such as “Bologna,” “I want schnapps,” and “Bussi Baby,” and proved they could move even the hardest metal fans. They ended with a flourish with “1, 2, 3, 4”.
Dragonforce delivered high-speed metal, enhanced with inflatable dragons, while British Postpunk group offered a more low-key set. Joe Talbot’s group shared love and energy with the audience. Mark Bowen even chased some security guards at one point in his flower dress. Swedish post-hardcore band Adept played on the Red Bull Stage.
“On Fire,” also on the Red Bull Stage, represented an alternative rock offering from Linda Battilani, proving not just Måneskin could rock. Danko Jones, on the road for almost 30 years, performed catchy hard rock. Nova Rock 2025 is coming; Nova Rock 2026 will take place from June 11-14, 2026, with Bring Me The Horizon. Festival boss Ewald Tatar noted the audience as the festival’s absolute winner.
