JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) provides a discount rate of up to 25 percent for long-distance train travel through the Big Sale promo program. The promo was held in order to welcome the Idul Adha 2020 holiday.

“This Big Sale promo is a form of appreciation for KAI customers in welcoming the long holiday of Eid al-Adha 1441 H,” said KAI VP Public Relations Joni Martinus in his written statement, Tuesday (07/28/2020).

Joni added, trains that will get a discount rate of up to 25 percent, namely the Bima Railway (Gambir – Malang), Kertajaya (Pasar Senen – Surabaya Pasarturi), Sembrani (Gambir – Surabaya Pasarturi), Turangga (Gambir – Surabaya Gubeng), Argo Lawu (Gambir – Solo Race), and Argo Dwipangga (Gambir – Solo Race).

“The piece given is quite interesting. For example, the Bima railroad was previously Rp 650,000 to Rp 500,000, Turangga Rp 630,000 to Rp 500,000, and Argo Dwipangga from Rp440,000 to Rp 360,000, “said Joni.

This Big Sale promo is valid for train trips from 30 July to 2 August 2020. Tickets that get a promo are limited in number.

Tickets can be ordered at the KAI Access app, Web kai.id, and all other official KAI ticket sales partners.

“This price discount aims to improve service to customers. Through the promo, KAI is confident that public interest in railroad services will increase,” said Joni.

In the period 20 to 26 July KAI served 48,295 Long-Distance Railroad customers, up 11 percent compared to the previous week’s 43,368 customers.

KAI continues to implement strict health protocols in travel such as requiring a Covid-19 free certificate, must wear a mask, the temperature does not exceed 37.3 degrees, in healthy conditions (no fever, cough, flu, and shortness of breath), and encourage customers to wear long sleeve clothes.

Long-distance train customers are also required to wear a Face Shield while traveling to leave the destination station area. For adult customers, Face Shield will be provided by KAI. Whereas customers under the age of 3 (infant) must carry a personal Face Shield
