Sloths spend most of their time eating, sleeping and resting in the treetops of forests in Central and South America.
Similar to koalas, sloths do not have a nutrient-dense diet. They have slow metabolisms to cope with low calorie intake and move very slowly to maintain their energy.
Since they spend most of their time huddled in the trees of the forest, they rarely run into predatory threats so there is no need to move quickly. The average sloth travels 41 yards per day and sleeps for about 15 hours.
The second animal is a starfish. They usually have five arms, which are covered with suckers and pincer-like organs that help them move slowly across the ocean floor. To the naked eye, starfish don’t appear to be moving at all, but they have a speed of 0.06 miles per hour.
Although starfish are carnivores, the animals they eat are just as slow. They eat shellfish, oysters, and injured or dead fish.
