Not only Ondra shines in climbing. Adamovská won the World Cup final at its premiere

Twenty-year-old Eliška Adamovská won the World Cup in climbing on difficulty in Briancon, France at her premiere in the finals and is the first Czech female medalist in this discipline in the series. As on Tuesday, Martin Stráník won bronze in Chamonix. Once again, he took advantage of the absence of some climbers, including the reigning world champion Adam Ondra, who are preparing for the Olympic Games.

Last November, Adamov, 20, won bronze at the European Olympic Championships in Moscow and silver in difficulty in November. In the same discipline, she reached the final for the first time in the World Cup today and surpassed all seven rivals in it. She thus won the most valuable medal in her career.

“I can’t believe it at all. I feel like it’s a dream,” said a native of Havířov in the broadcast of the IFSC World Federation from the finals. Together with Stráník, they made sure in Briancon that after 18 years, Czech sport climbing was represented in the men’s and women’s finals at the World Cup in the discipline of difficulty. Today, the Italian Stefano Ghisolfi dominated among the men.

While Ondra has long been one of the world leaders and will be the favorite of the Olympic premieres in Tokyo, Stráník secured a world medal for the first time in Chamonix on Tuesday. Today, Adamovská followed up on Tereza Kysilková’s last final participation in 2003.
