It is well known that too high cholesterol affects cardio and cerebrovascular health. Could too low a rate also be harmful, especially when faced with the risk of hemorrhagic stroke?

This American study (Brigham and Women’s Hospital) involved some 27,000 women, aged 45 years on average at the start, followed for 20 years. LDL (“bad”) and HDL (“good”) and triglycleride cholesterol levels were assessed at first, then at periodic intervals.
