Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
The Chairperson of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) is inactive Ma’ruf Amin ask those who are not in line with the goals of the ulama’s organization to find another forum or organization.
This he conveyed at the opening ceremony of the X MUI National Conference (Munas) which was held at the Sultan Hotel, Jakarta, Wednesday (15/11).
“Likewise, MUI must obey and obey the principles of organizational lines. If it does not match that, you can use other organizations and not continue to use MUI,” said Ma’ruf.
Ma’ruf likens the MUI organization to a train that has rails, drivers, and passengers from various backgrounds and clear objectives.
“People who are not in accordance with the destination and the road that must be passed, should not take an MUI vehicle. It is better if he uses another vehicle that is more in accordance with his tastes and desires,” he said, who is also the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia.
Furthermore, Ma’ruf also asked the MUI management in the future to continue to adapt their identity, maintain their attitudes and words in accordance with MUI’s Islamic identity.
He hopes that the MUI management can be used as a driving force as well as a good example for the community in the aspect of practicing religious teachings.
“So the MUI manager also adapts to the MUI institutional identity. A strong religious label demands that the manager can embody the religious identity in the words of his actions and policies,” said Ma’ruf.
