Norwegian top talent scored his first Eredivisie goals

Fortuna Sittard – Groningen 1-3

Jørgen Strand Larsen has scored his first goals for Groningen.

The Norwegian U21 national team striker scored the first two goals in the team in a 3-1 victory over Fortuna Sittard on Sunday.

Already after six minutes, he got in front of a Fortuna Sittard defender and put in 1-0. Barely half an hour into the match, a precise post came from the left wing which Strand Larsen controlled in goal to 2-0.

Mats Seuntjens reduced to 1-2 on penalties after 54 minutes of play, but just over ten minutes before the end Bart van Hintum fixed the result to 3-1.

Strand Larsen was replaced four minutes before the end.

After six games, Groningen is in seventh place in Eredivsie with ten points. Fortuna Sittard is last with second place.

Before Sunday’s match, Jørgen Strand Larsen was without a goal and with one goal scorer in his first five matches in the Dutch top division.

In September, Strand Larsen announced a transfer from Sarpsborg to Groningen. He signed a four-year contract with an option for another year.

In 49 games in the Eliteserien, Strand Larsen delivered six goals and eight assists.
