North York Shooting Leaves One Dead; Police Investigate

Toronto police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Monday morning in North York. Officers responded to reports of shots fired at approximately 5:20 a.m. near Weston and Albion roads, just east of Rexdale.

Upon arrival, police discovered a man in his 40s suffering from a gunshot wound inside an apartment located above a business in the plaza. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released his identity.

Acting Det. Sgt. Munish Dhoum addressed reporters at the scene, stating that while a suspect description is not yet available, there is no indication of an ongoing threat to public safety. He urged the public to assist with the investigation.
