(Seoul) North Korea would have launched at sea on Monday, a fourth missile since the beginning of the month, according to South Korean and Japanese officials. It seems that the regime in the North is seeking to spread out its military force while diplomatic exchanges with the United States are at a standstill.

The South Korean general staff did not immediately specify whether it was a ballistic missile or how far the projectile traveled. Japan’s Prime Minister’s Office said their experts had detected a possible ballistic missile fired from North Korea, but did not offer further details.
The Japan Coast Guard issued an advisory to all vessels near its shores to watch for any objects that may fall from the sky, but no damage had been reported to any boat or aircraft in the area.
The new firing comes after the North Korean regime conducted two tests of purported hypersonic missiles on January 5 and 11, as well as a ballistic missile launch from a train last Friday. The move was reportedly a reaction to new sanctions imposed by US President Joe Biden last week.
North Korea has increased the tempo of its military exercises in recent months, testing new missiles designed to beat anti-missile systems in the region.
Some experts say North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is reverting to a tried-and-true tactic of pressuring neighbors and the United States with missile fire and threats before negotiating to extract concessions .
