UND volleyball to Face Kansas City in Summit League Matchup
GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The University of North dakota volleyball team will continue Summit League play Saturday, hosting Kansas City at 1 p.m. CT from Swinney Arena. The match will be broadcast live on The Summit League Network.
Following a 3-0 defeat to Omaha on thursday, UND (currently unranked in the Summit League) seeks a win against Kansas City (1-15, 0-3 Summit League). This contest offers a crucial possibility for both teams to improve their standing in the conference. North Dakota last defeated Kansas City on October 29, 2022, and will aim to replicate that success on their home court.
Offensively, Kansas city is spearheaded by Ryanne Wattree with 132 kills and Ledisi Kpea with 109 kills. Kyla Jones and Chloe Kaminski share setting duties, recording 299 and 176 assists respectively. Defensively, Ledisi Kpea leads the Roos in blocks with 52 (11 solo), while Alaina Larson anchors the back row with 163 digs.
For North Dakota, Paige Barber is a key player, having recorded a match-high 12 kills against Omaha. Barber has reached double-digit kills in 11 matches this season. Sadie White has consistently delivered strong performances, dishing out 20 or more assists in eight consecutive matches. Ava Galvan is coming off a career-high three total blocks.
Notably, White, Galvan, Kimanni Rugley, and Matthea Dalton have all appeared in at least 94% of sets played this season when available, demonstrating their consistent presence in the lineup. Izzie McCormick contributed five digs in the last victory over Kansas City in 2022.
