Scientists in the UK are voicing concern that the rate of infection cases norovirus, which has shown a decline this year, may surge from next month.
“Because we all now wash our hands more often, wear masks and stay at home, there has been a decrease in cases of flu and other diseases.
“Thus, researchers are concerned that the UK may experience a larger epidemic as transmission dynamics have changed,” the report said.
According to scientists, norovirus is at high risk of contracting next month and October, so it is a new concern for UK health authorities.
“Scientists have also warned that flu cases could be severe this year but now norovirus is on the list,” the report said.
Among the main symptoms of norovirus include sudden nausea, vomiting and diarrhea in addition to high body temperature, pain in the abdomen and body aches.
Some scientists have also warned that the problem could further complicate case detection Covid-19 if both outbreaks reach their peak transmission rates.
