Nord Stream 1 will not work at full capacity – Russia named the reason

Polyansky argues that the technical procedures for the Nord Stream gas pipeline cannot be completed due to restrictions imposed, including by the EU and the UK,

“As for the current situation with Nord Stream, I think it has already been explained in detail that there are certain technical procedures that need to be completed with the Nord Stream equipment, and this cannot be done due to the sanctions imposed against Russia,” he said.

Recall that Canada made an exception to the sanctions against Russia and transferred a Siemens turbine for Nord Stream-1 to Germany.

The equipment belongs to PJSC “Gazprom” and was under repair in Montreal. Canada delayed the transfer of the turbine, following earlier restrictions.

At the same time, Gazprom stated that they supposedly could not get gas turbine for Nord Stream.

In company Siemens later said that Russia was deliberately slowing down the import of a turbine for Nord Stream after repairs.

July 27, it became known that Russia significantly reduced gas supplies to Europe via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline. The reason is the shutdown of another turbine due to a “malfunction”.
