The Imola track would be the third venue for the Italian race, where the race will take place after the Italian Grand Prix on September 6 and the first F-1 race on the Mugello track, which will take place in a week, also marking the Ferrari team’s 1000th race.

F-1 added that the race weekend on the Imola track will take place for only two days instead of three, and it is possible that with only one free practice session instead of the usual three.

Three Grand Prix stages have been added to the race calendar, none of which is on the original 22-race calendar, as the F-1 has abandoned three autumn races on the American continent – Brazil, Mexico and the United States – that have joined the previously canceled Canadian Grand Prix in June. phase due to Covid-19.

There are now 13 races scheduled for the season, and F-1 management plans to end the season in December with races in Bahrain and Abu Dhabi, which would ALLOW it to reach 15 races and meet its commitments to television companies.

Additional races in Asia could possibly be held in Malaysia and Vietnam, where street racing would take place in Hanoi for the first time.

“We are pleased to make significant progress in completing our plans for the 2020 season and look forward to welcoming you to the Nürburgring, Portimao and Imola on the revised calendar,” said Chay Carrey, F-1 Chairman and CEO.

After three stages, the leader with 63 points is Lewis Hamilton, followed by Valter Botass with 58 points. Max Verstapen has 33 points, Lendo Noris has 26 points, and Alexander Albon and Serhio Peress have scored 22 points each.

The next stage of the British “Grand Prix” will take place on August 2 at the Silverstone track in Great Britain.

A record number of races were planned this season (22), but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the organizers are now approving 13 stages.
