Hannibal Mejbri is among ten players nominated for the award for young player of the year in Africa.

The 19-year-old got two games in the Premier League this season, but it was for the national team that he really stood out.

In mid-June, he helped Tunisia to victory in the Kirin Cup and hopes that the impressive achievements can contribute to a place in Tunisia’s World Cup squad.

Among the other nominees we find Ilaix Moriba who was linked with United last summer, as well as Kamaldeen Sulemana from Lille and Pape Matar Sarr who is a Tottenham player, but was loaned to Metz last season.

Signe Bruun scored a goal, but Norway took the victory

On Wednesday, Denmark played against Norway in a private international match.

Signe Bruun scored the first goal of the match after just a few seconds and gave Norway a frightening opening. Bruun played the entire first half, but at the start of the second half she took her place on the bench.

It took 40 minutes before Maria Thorisdottir and Norway equalized. Shortly after, Guro Reitan scored his and Norway’s second goal and thus ensured a Norwegian 2-1 victory. Thorisdottir played the whole match, while Vilde Bøe Risa only came in after 85 minutes.

Single Seier for Groenen & Co

On Tuesday night, the Netherlands won 3-0 in the World Cup qualifier at home against Belarus.

Jackie Groenen started the match for Nederland, and played until the 74th minute, when she was replaced (at the position 2-0). The United midfielder had a good involvement ahead of the 1-0 goal where she got away well with a Belarusian tackle in the starting phase of the attack.

There is one match left of the World Cup qualifier for the Netherlands, and with a victory at home against Iceland there, the World Cup place will be secured. This summer they will play the European Championships, where they are in a group with Sweden, Portugal and Switzerland.

Otherwise on Tuesday it was 0-0 between New Zealand and Wales in a private international match. Hayley Ladd (replaced in the 63rd minute) and Carrie Jones (replaced during the break) started the match for Wales, and from what we understand both should have done well. Chloe Williams sat on the bench the whole match for the Welsh.
