NOMAD straps for Apple Watch: sportiness or leather, the choice is yours

We tested the new NOMAD straps for the Apple Watch. The sportiness of the Sport Strap and the elegance of the Modern Strap, two high quality straps with different uses but that coincide in maximum comfort.

NOMAD Sport Strap

If you want to play sports, what better way than to choose a strap that is resistant to water and sweat and that adapts to your wrist to get a good Apple Watch fit that allows you to take all heart rate and oxygen saturation measurements without being annoying. The NOMAD Sport Strap serves both purposes on an excellent note, with a few quirks that make it one of the best options in its class. Made of fluoroelastomer in its entirety, with the sole exception of the black anodized aluminum hook, it has internal ventilation channels so that sweat and humidity do not bother the wrist and do not end up causing reactions in the most sensitive skin .

The connection with the Apple Watch is carried out by the same strap, and along the entire strap we find holes for adjusting the strap, which allows it to fit practically all wrists (150mm to 200mm). The hooking system is very similar to the original Apple straps, although with a more angular design, which I personally like a lot. The adaptation to the wrist is really good, it is very comfortable both for daily use and for sports. It is only available in black for all sizes of Apple Watch and is compatible with all generations of the Apple smartwatch.

NOMAD Modern Strap

If what we prefer is the touch of leather, its elegance and its versatility to combine it with any clothing, the NOMAD Modern Strap leather strap is perfect. The leather with which the strap is made is the classic Horween from the United States, in which vegetable dyes have been applied to give it that color but leaving a lot of room for the leather to change over time, making your strap personalized like no other. The parts that connect the strap to the Apple Watch and the buckle are made of stainless steel, with a matte black finish in this case, although it also exists in a silver finish.

Like any leather product, when you put it on for the first time it is somewhat stiff, but as soon as you use it for a while, the adaptation to your wrist will be much better, as with good shoes. The strap is not waterproof, and NOMAD recommends that we do not get it wet so that the skin remains perfect for longer. In the event that we want a waterproof leather strap, we should opt for the Active Leather straps that NOMAD also offers us. It is available in several colors, in addition to the Natural Leather that we see in these images, we can get it in black and brown, for all sizes and generations of Apple Watch.

Editor’s opinion

With NOMAD straps for Apple Watch you will have to choose between sportiness or elegance, but not in quality or comfort, because these two straps are two examples of how to make accessories worthy of the Apple smartwatch. With different characteristics and uses, both the Sport Strap and the Modern Strap are perfect and worthy companions for your Apple Watch. Top quality materials and impeccable finishes that translate into products that will last a lifetime and are tremendously comfortable on your wrist.
