It took countless rumors and presumably several shifts before Nokia finally launched the Nokia 9, the first flagship smartphone since the Nokia 8, in February 2019. On paper, the device had almost everything to become a box office hit. But of course the five-fold camera hyped in advance by the PR department then fell well short of expectations. Even with the choice of a processor that was a generation old at the time, reviewers did not necessarily do themselves a favor.
