Too loud, too bright and they’ve been hanging there for too long. Two endlessly circling helicopters caused irritation among many Amsterdammers on Sunday evening. Inquiries learn that the helicopters are recording for the Amsterdam Music Festival, part of ADE. “What a total noise.”
It is a private helicopter and a Redbull helicopter. The private helicopter in particular caused frustration. On the website flightradar24 can be seen that the helicopter made about ten thousand laps above the city center. Redbull’s helicopter is slowing down.
AT5 receives dozens of responses, and there are also many messages on social media. ‘What a nuisance’, someone reports. “What are we doing?” Says another. “They have been pampering the peace in the center for a long time,” says another. “They fly very low and a lot of nuisance.”
The helicopters would record for the Amsterdam Music Festival, part of ADE. The recordings were made at, among others, the creative center Capital C, but also at other places in the city. ‘Flyers were sent in advance and discussed in the neighborhoods’, says a spokesman for Capital C at Weesperplein. “A permit has also been requested for this.”
