“Nobody knows who I am”

In a documentary available next month, Internet users will discover Paris Hilton as they have never seen her. She talks about her past and some painful aspects of her childhood.

Known for the glamorous and iconic image it embodies, Paris Hilton for the first time revealed itself as it is. In the documentary “This is Paris” which will appear on September 14 on the Youtube Originals channel, the American star launched into rare confidences about her childhood and the character behind whom she has been hiding for so many years. The first extracts were published by the young woman of 39 years on Twitter this Monday, August 17, 2020. “I have never given so much about my life before, but I am finally ready to share my truth”, was t she announced.

“I still have nightmares about it”

Some clips from the DJ’s life were on display in the trailer. Between drunken evenings, fiery performances and prestigious events, Paris Hilton no longer has time for her. “I feel like the whole world thinks they know me. Nobody really knows who I am … I myself sometimes don’t know who I am. I’m so used to playing a character that it’s hard for me to be normal, ”she regretted.

These are then memories of childhood that she evoked, but which are not pink and gold like almost all of her wardrobe. “There is something that happened in my childhood that I never talked about,” she began. Afraid of being punished by her sister Nicky (36) and her mother Kathy who also appeared in the documentary, Paris Hilton has long hidden a heavy secret. “I still have nightmares about it. The only thing that saved my sanity was thinking about what I wanted to be when I was done. I just created this brand and this character, and I’ve been stuck in it all this time, ”she said. “They say that with trauma, the mind can forget but the body never,” said Nicky, her sister. “It’s buried in you, and it can come out anytime,” she continued.

“I understand myself so much better”

Last month, Paris Hilton confided on the set of Jimmy Kimmel. “I’m excited, but I’m also nervous considering the topics covered in the documentary,” she said. “These are things I’ve never talked about before, really personal and traumatic experiences, so talking about this publicly is obviously very difficult,” she admitted. While she has always been used to the spotlight, Paris Hilton is, to everyone’s surprise, a very shy person by nature. “Being myself was a whole different experience, but also almost therapeutic in a way, where I learned more about myself. I had no idea why I am the way I am, and now I understand myself so much better, ”she congratulated herself.
