This year’s Nobel Prize in Chemistry goes to three people. American scientist Caroline Bertozzi, University of Copenhagen Prof. The prize was awarded to Morten Meldel and the American scientist Barry Sharpless. Research on click chemistry and studies on bioorthogonal chemistry are recognized.

Barry Sharpless won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2001. Sharpless is the fifth Nobel Prize twice. Barry Sharpless pioneered the branch of research called click chemistry with Morten Meldel.

This year’s Nobel Prize in Physics was shared by three people. Alan Aspect, John F. Closer and Anton Silinger received the Nobel Prize. The award is for contributions in quantum mechanics. The announcement was made yesterday.

They conducted important experiments on the cornerstones of quantum mechanics. Their experiments have also given impetus to new branches of science such as quantum information science.
