It’s China replaced the Russian AL-31F engines of Chinese J-15 fighters. The Drive brings it back.
The author of the article says that it took China 10 years after the J-15 entered service to put its own WS-10 engine into the fighter.
“This move means full confidence in WS-10 and further rejection of Moscow as an engine supplier,” the post read.
The publication believes that the Chinese engine was installed not in a new aircraft, but in an already in service fighter.
In early November, China unveiled a model of the sixth-generation fighter jet at the Airshow China 2022 international air show in Zhuhai.
