Indonesian U-19 National Team will face Brunei Darussalam in group phase AFF U-19 Cup 2022. Instead of targeting goals, the national team was asked to secure victory.
After holding a 0-0 draw with Vietnam in the inaugural match of Group A, Indonesia will continue the match against Brunei Darussalam.
The match will be presented at Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi, on Monday (4/7/2022). Adjusting the evaluation after against Vietnam, Garuda Muda has problems in finishing.
Indonesian U-19 National Team Striker Hokky Caraka said preparations against Brunei were focused on mentality. Because physically he thinks it’s pretty good.
“Preparations are only mental and physical preparation, because yesterday (actually) the mentality was good, all you need to do is improve your mentality so you can win,” said Hokky after undergoing training at the Tajimamela Field, Bekasi, Sunday (3/7/2022).
“The coach’s evaluation yesterday was just finishing in front of goal and taking our position in front of goal because it’s still a bit lacking. Maybe we can improve again,” he added.
Compared Indonesian National team, Brunei reaped bad results in their inaugural match. Facing the Myanmar U-19 national team, Brunei lost 0-7 in the Group A match of the U-19 AFF Cup at the Madya Stadium, Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), on Saturday (2/7/2022). In response, the national team did not want to be happy.
“No need to be grandiose, the important thing is that we win first,” said Hokky about the target.
“Yesterday, we just lacked the courage to shoot last night. Maybe tomorrow against Brunei I will be brave again to shoot,” he said.
Regarding communication, the player who was born in Gunung Kidul, 17 years ago, said: National team U-19 no problem. He said the players were familiar with each other.
“We have started to get to know each other. When we talk about it, there is no longer any hesitation but there is still a little miscommunication on several occasions which ultimately failed to become a goal,” said Hokky.
