No more mouth / nose cap mandatory for school children aged 12 and under



Children aged 12 and under no longer need to wear a mouth / nose cap at school in Suriname. The Ministry of Education, Science and Culture announced this in a letter on Saturday evening.

The Surinamese ministry reports that the new scientific insights from the health authorities at home and abroad provide this instruction.

The ministry also reports that due to the exceptional heat, the primary schools will close from Tuesday 20 October to Friday 13 November at 11.30 am. The VOJ and VOS schools during this period at 12 noon.
