Liverpool’s certainty in winning the 2019-2020 Premier League actually occurred when Manchester City lost to Chelsea at the end of June. After that, Ferguson sent a congratulatory message to Klopp as a token of appreciation.

It’s just that, Klopp did not immediately read the message. Klopp only learned of the message from Ferguson after he held a celebratory party with his players which lasted until morning.

Without thinking, Klopp also tried to contact Ferguson. Klopp admitted that he did not know that Ferguson slept with his cellphone near him. Therefore, when a message from Klopp came in, it immediately woke Ferguson up.

“The problem is I came back late at night in my room and I couldn’t sleep right away so I read the messages I received and one of them was from Alex Ferguson,” said Klopp, as reported by Fox Sports, Saturday (12/9/2020).

“I just answered in a very polite way in my opinion. It was around 3.30am to 4am and I didn’t expect him to put his cell phone next to his bed. I don’t want to wake him up. If that happens, forgive me Alex! ” continued the German coach.

“But since then we have not been in touch. He is still a former Man United manager and I don’t think he wants to talk to me too much about Liverpool’s success. She respects it but it’s not her favorite thing to watch on television! ” said Klopp.
