NL households rank second in credit card payments

An analysis by Coparmex Nuevo León, with data from INEGI’s National Household Income Expenditure Survey (ENIGH), reveals that Nuevo León is the second state in the country where families allocate the largest amount of resources to paying for credit cards. credit, only surpassed by Mexico City.

Iván Rivas Rodríguez, director of Coparmex Nuevo León, highlighted the need to create competitive conditions to investment that promote new jobs.

“We need to increase productivity in Nuevo León. In 2020, due to the unemployment crisis, families raised their debt levels, this product of the lack of income to cover their needs.

“For this reason, the importance of creating competitive conditions for investment and increasing productivity to create more and better paid jobs,” he added.

In 2018, according to ENIGH, the amount spent on credit card payments by households in Nuevo León was 12,024 pesos average per quarter.
