Nissan has already presented the Ariya concept to us. Next July 15, she will reveal the production version to us. The latter will first be launched in Japan, then in other markets before reaching North America.
The announcement was made at Nissan’s annual shareholders’ meeting in Tokyo. There, the company’s CEO, Makoto Uchida, also announced that he was giving up half his salary and promised to revive the company by 2023, a comeback that will sit in part on the arrival of new electric models like the Ariya.
Note that Nissan announced significant losses of 6.3 billion US dollars during the fiscal year that ended in March. Now is the time for reengineering.
Makito Uchida said that the Ariya, first presented as a concept last October, will spearhead the brand’s new line of electric vehicles. In fact, 8 new products of the genre are expected by 2024. Over the next 18 months around the world, 12 new models (including redesigns) will be presented by Nissan.

When the Ariya goes on sale, it will be equipped with the latest Nissan ProPilot 2.0 driver assistance technology. The latter offers hands-free driving on motorways and is combined with a driver monitoring system. The latter will likely be paired with Nissan’s e-4ORCE twin-engine, all-wheel drive powertrain. The Ariya will probably be built at the Tochigi assembly plant, which is currently undergoing modifications in order to be able to create all-electric models.
As for the production version of the Ariya, if we rely on patent images that have been seen, it will be similar to the concept. Expect a minimalist cocoon with a spacious interior and a flat floor. Nissan would have told the dealers to plan a speed of about 5 seconds at 0-100 km / h and a range of about 500 km. We guess here that we were referring to the European cycle, which could translate into a freedom of about 400 kilometers here, the standard at present in the segment targeted by the manufacturer.
