Nintendo gives vague answer to Switch Pro rumors

For a long time, it has been rumored that Nintendo has a so-called Switch Pro console on the way. However, Nintendo’s Doug Bowser gave a very bland answer to the question of whether such a game console is on the way or not.

For several months now, rumors have been circulating that Nintendo is preparing a more powerful edition of its gaming console Switch called Switch Pro. Although several different variants of more different monitors, varying hardware and the like have been claimed to be on the way, Nintendo has neither confirmed nor dismissed any of these rumors. In an interview with Doug Bowser, CEO of Nintendo America, the answers did not become much clearer.

Bowser participated in an interview in The Washington Post (pay wall) where, among other things, they talked about the rumors that have been circulating. However, the answers given do not lead to many answers regarding the questions about the potential game console that may be on the way.

In short, Bowser replied that Nintendo is not interested in launching new game consoles with new technology just because the technology is available. The focus is instead on using new hardware and the like if it can lead to improved gaming experiences. Other factors such as whether to implement new technology on an existing platform or keep it for the next generation of consoles also play a role. According to Bowser, the whole thing seems to be a very complex issue.

In general, we still have no indicators of an upcoming Switch Pro. A game console that was rumored to be unveiled around E3 2021. The possibility that Nintendo deliberately keeps its cards close to the west is always there. However, it can also be argued that if such a gaming console were to be launched and launched before the turn of the year, as previous rumors have claimed, Nintendo would have confirmed its existence by now.
