Nintendo 64 mini: fan creates a portable version of the legendary console

Launched in 1996, the Nintendo 64 was one of the preferred consoles at the time, as it featured incredible video games such as Mario Kart, Super Mario 64, Pokémon Stadium, GoldenEye 007, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, entre otras entregas.

So beloved is this video game console that a fan decided to modify it and create a portable version that he called ‘Nintendo 64 mini‘. A video uploaded to YouTube shows the steps he took to make this incredible device.

As detailed by the youtuber, known as GmanModz, he had to cut out the motherboard of the Nintendo 64, as well as the rest of its basic components so that the device can fit into the pockets.

In order to achieve its mission, it also had to reduce the cartridges (of the games) and look for a screen. In this case, he had to use one that measured 3.5 inches and had a resolution of 320×240.

Finally, it had to include a small speaker, a headphone jack and a battery that provides an hour and a half of autonomy. Fortunately, it can be charged while playing games, thanks to its 12V charger.

As you can see in the video, which has more than 101,000 views in YouTube, the portable console also has several buttons on the front that allow us to control the game characters.

A few months ago, the same youtuber reduced a Nintendo 64 and included it inside the case of a Game Boy Advance, the portable console that the Japanese company launched a few years ago.
