The Kankan court of first instance on Thursday sentenced nine activists from the former ruling party, the RPG Arc-en-ciel, who demonstrated on May 24 to demand the return to power of the former president, Alpha Condé.
Prosecuted for criminal participation in a crowd, these defendants were retained in the bonds of guilt before being sentenced to six months.
In the first group, Hadja Ciré Diané and Aïssatou Diallo received 6 months’ imprisonment, 4 of which were suspended and the payment of a fine of one million Guinean francs each.
As for the second group, it is composed of Fatoumata Diakité, Kadiatou Diallo, Kankou Camara, Nana Condé, Fadima Sidibé Bintou Traoré and Mariam Sacko. These RPG Arc-en-ciel activists were also given a 6-month suspended prison sentence. They must pay a fine of 500,000 Guinean francs each.
