Nine-month-Old Baby Dies Following Dog Attack in Wales
Rogiet, Monmouthshire, Wales – A nine-month-old baby has died after being attacked by a dog at a residence in Rogiet, south-east Wales, Gwent Police confirmed Sunday evening.
Police adn paramedics responded to a call at a property on Crossway around 6:00 PM GMT.Upon arrival, officers found the infant with critical injuries. Despite emergency efforts, the baby was pronounced dead at the scene.
The dog involved in the attack has been seized by authorities and removed from the property. Police are currently working to determine the breed of the animal as part of their investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
“Officers are on scene and will be making further inquiries as the investigation progresses,” stated Chief Superintendent John Davies.
The incident has deeply shaken the local community.Residents reported a meaningful police and ambulance presence on the normally quiet residential street. By 10:00 PM GMT, the initial police cordon had been lifted, with the scene transitioning to a forensic investigation.As of late Sunday, two police officers remained guarding the house on Crossway.
