Most moneylenders – forgave wrestlers against a vote for a particular party
A total of 9 men from different municipalities in the Burgas region have been detained for buying votes in a specialized police operation to prevent crimes against citizens’ political rights and violations of electoral law, the OD of the Interior Ministry in Burgas officially announced this morning.
During a search of two addresses in the Pobeda district of Burgas, inhabited by two men, aged 40 and 42, engaged in usury, BGN 11,000, personal and debit cards and notebooks with a list of names and distributed amounts. It has been established that the debtors of the usurers have been promised the forgiveness of credits when voting for a certain political force.
Among the detainees are moneylenders, money, ID cards and lists of debtors were seized.

At the moment, the interrogation of debtors continues in order to clarify details of the cases. Two pre-trial proceedings have been instituted, police spokeswoman Tsvetlina Randeva said.
On the territory of the Karnobat village of Ekzarh Antimovo, a search of a private home inhabited by a 40-year-old man from the village, who was detained, was also carried out. Rapid proceedings have been instituted for a crime against the political rights of citizens. Mobile phones with photos of ID cards were seized.
Six other men from the Nessebar villages of Gyulovtsa and Orizare were detained again for buying votes, and three fast-track proceedings were instituted. During searches at various addresses in the villages, lists of persons from different settlements in the Burgas region were seized, containing personal data, copies of an integral ballot with a marked preference, copies of ID cards and other documents related to the election process. Laptops and mobile phones were also seized. Numerous witnesses were questioned.
BGN 28,000 were seized from one of the searched addresses in Gyulovtsa, as well as a notebook containing names with personal data. From another address in the village of Gyulovtsa, a notebook with small names of many people and the amount of EUR 16,540, USD 1,320 and BGN 8,100 were seized.
The active police work on neutralizing cases of violation of the election legislation in the Burgas region continues, said the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior.
