During the live broadcast of the Tekken World Tour 2022 Finals, Bandai Namco CEO Katsuhiro Harada and Tekken 8 CEO Kohei Ikeda announced the next Tekken World Tour for the 2023 season.

In addition to the explanations, the video shows a lot of gameplay that you can enjoy by seeing visually what the developers explain.

We start by explaining the “aggressive” keyword and the vision behind the development of the game. We also hear that the developers want to make combat more enjoyable for players in every attack, make it easier to understand key moments and momentum in matches, and improve the unique features and characteristics of each character.

This was followed by a look at the Rage System, which has been changed from Tekken 7. We then move on to a completely new system, the Recoverable Gauge, the Heat system, which is the core element of the game, and finally the controller style.

The Heat mechanic adds a whole layer of nuance and depth to Tekken. Its long-term goal is to give novice players easier-to-understand techniques and veteran players a deeper level of control over what is happening at the moment.

The new mechanics trailer showed off the game’s user interface for the first time, as previous trailers were mostly cinematic teasers devoid of actual gameplay. Each fighter can gain gray health by blocking powerful attacks, and the only way to restore this health is to be aggressive and launch your own attacks.

Along with the new Tekken 8 video, we also received the announcement of the Tekken World Tour 2023, which will continue to focus on Tekken 7. It will be divided into different tournament events that give points that will count towards the Global Finals, which will be completely offline. The full tournament schedule has yet to be announced, but you can watch the trailer below.
