Nîmes: the Potager, the restaurant of Esat Osaris, has take-out meals

Reopened since March 1 only to workers from the specialized establishment, it is expanding its offer by offering a menu that is renewed every day to be ordered under three different formulas.

At the Gard Gourmand 2021 competition, his “brandade tomato in a verrine” received a Gold medal. Also, when Le Potager, the restaurant of the Esat (Establishment and service of help through work) Osaris decided, on April 6, to offer take-out meals, the regulars of the place regained a certain appetite and the taste good things.

Three options to choose from

The vegetable garden menu changes every day. And every day, from Monday to Friday (noon to 2 p.m.), three take-out options are available: dish of the day (€ 8); starter-main course or main course-dessert (€ 10); starter-main course-dessert (€ 12).

The menu is available on weekdays, displayed in front of the restaurant, on the Potager’s Facebook site or by contacting the restaurant on 04 66 40 09 51 or 07 85 98 57 10. They are done by phone, before 10:30 am on 04 66 40 09 51 or 07 85 98 57 10, or by email on [email protected].

If the restaurant has suffered the horrors of the closure of the various confinements, with an improvement from June to October, it has reopened its doors since March 1, reserving its room for the workers of Esat Nîmes on Chemin des Minimes. Of the 210 in the establishment, ten of the green spaces workshop take advantage of the first midday service, and ten of the premises cleaning workshop, of the second service, at 1 pm.

The reopening of the restaurant gave our employees a little air (two in the service and four in the kitchen, Editor’s note), concedes Nathalie Clément, the instructor who has managed Le Potager since October 2015. It was becoming complicated for some of them, between the fear of Covid and the change of work. We were faced with anxiety-provoking situations.

The first customers were won over by the initiative

The launch of take-out meals temporarily brings another offer to keep the restaurant running. If we offer the same menu, sometimes a little improved, as to our workers, we are not yet at the top, smiles Nathalie Clément. We are still looking for our bearings.

Nevertheless, between Facebook and a little hauling in the neighborhood, Le Potager has already served about ten meals for the first three days of its take-out formulas. With the hope that the initiative will be sustainable.
