Nîmes: the crew of the Vaisseau 3008 ready for the Christmas markets

About thirty exhibitors, residents, artisans and local creators will be present for two weekends, Saturdays December 11 and 18 and Sundays December 12 and 19.

The Vaisseau 3008 was to finish its race at the end of December 2021. Recently, the lease of the cultural, entrepreneurial and social third place located at 9, rue Hôtel-Dieu, was extended by six months. A new breath of fresh air for the crew members of this ephemeral 3,800 m2 space. It allows them to imagine the future next spring.

Creators, artisans prepare the Christmas markets on Saturdays 11 and 18 and Sundays 12 and 19 December. About thirty exhibitors – residents and outside designers – will be present.

“Last year, despite the reduced size and health restrictions, 500 people came to the Christmas markets at Vaisseau 3008”, says Céline Aujoulat.

Since September 2020, Céline and Antony Aujoulat have taken their seats aboard Vaisseau 3008, piloted by Morad Berrada. The couple set up their upholsterer and decorator’s workshop, “An armchair or nothing”. “This place made it possible to expand our activity, to meet and collaborate”, Celine continues.

Marie-Aude Molin, watercolor artist will present her colorful, graphic and offbeat drawings, black and white made with an acrylic marker, including a series of “bugs” with pen and hair. “This place allowed me as an artist and author to have more visibility and to come out of isolation thanks to enriching encounters”, she says. Pascale François produces ceramics, sculptures and jewelry. Its workshops are on two floors. The ceramist initiates the work of stoneware and porcelain and gives individual lessons in turning.

A shop is open from Monday to Saturday

She will also be present at the Christmas markets and hope “very soon to find a place among the residents of Vaisseau 3008”.

A wealth of talent is hidden behind the main door of Vaisseau 3008. To discover for the Christmas markets, but also all year round until June 2022.
