Nikita Vysotsky explained the changes in the monument at the grave of his father

Actor Nikita Vysotsky explained why today, on the day of the 40th anniversary of the death of his father Vladimir Vysotsky, a new version of the monument was installed on his grave at the Vagankovskoye cemetery.

Earlier, news about the new edition of the monument caused a scandal. Actor Stanislav Sadalsky said that his son humiliated Vladimir Vysotsky by “cutting off the head” of the monument, which made the monument 30 cm shorter. Also, the actor was not satisfied that the new image of Vladimir Vysotsky had a crooked mouth.

Nikita Vysotsky explained that the monument was altered by its author, sculptor Alexander Rukovishnikov. And this is the option that should have been there from the very beginning. “For various reasons – technical and ideological – it was impossible to erect a monument in this form in 1985. Now, many years later, the sculptor returned to this idea,” said Nikita Vysotsky.

He also denied that the monument had become lower, noting that, on the contrary, the monument had become 38 cm higher.

“I think everything turned out well. This option is more harmonious and correct,” said Nikita Vysotsky.

Today hundreds of people have gathered at the grave of Vladimir Vysotskogr. They read the poet’s poems, perform his songs.
