A perfect picture
Maria Lvova Belova, 38 ans, married to an Orthodox priest and mother of five biological children et five adopted including a Ukrainian, even took under guardianship 13 disabled children : she ticks all the boxes to demonstrate that she is a real “savior” of children.
She always appears on Russian TV or on her Telegram channel in an impeccable way, hugging children or stuffed animals, welcoming “orphan” children hands full of presents to comfort them and guiding the children to new families who promise to take care of them.
The picture seems perfect, yet all these actions go against international laws as well as the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Skillfully orchestrated propaganda
Vladimir Putin had already dismissed the accusations against Maria Lvova Belova out of hand by publicly defending her: “This fragile woman alone does more for children and peace than these shameful Americans who scribble sanctions lists”.
A way of seeing the situation as it suits the Russian regime which is harped on. During a filmed interview with President Vladimir Putin, Maria Lvova Belova specifies to him that there are “legal details which will have to be remedied”.
To which the Head of State replies that these are “exceptional circumstances and I think that we should not think of bureaucratic delays, but rather to the interests of the children”.
Thus, the Russian regime passes in the eyes of its citizens as a country that welcomes the children of their enemy to “save” them and welcome them, while showing that they are the priority despite the laws.

The kidnapping of thousands of Ukrainian children
And Russia justifies its actions by arguing that the parents have abandoned their children or that the latter are orphans. But Maria Lvova Belova has the answer to everything: “The children don’t want to go back to their parents, they love Russia now.”
She even confided that at the beginning the Ukrainian children said “nasty things about President Putin and Russia”, but then they were able to integrate and it is a success.
It must be said that everything is done to force the children to integrate well in Russia: so-called centers of “re-education” and “psychological rehabilitation” welcome them in several cities.
And Maria Lvova Belova now plans to open specialized centers for adolescents this time, to “give them special attention” as she specifies in Rapsi news.
“After the stress experienced, the cancellation of projects and life prospects, and sometimes the loss of loved ones, they need social and psychological rehabilitation. For them, an adapted protocol has been designed: consultations and training psychological, professional orientation, master classes, we do everything we can to help them regain their confidence.”

Accusations and Complaints
Ukraine has repeatedly accused Russia of kidnapping Ukrainian children from the occupied territories.
