Bad news for the NHL club Edmonton Oilers. The player Colby Cave, teammate of our ice hockey superstar Leon Draisaitl (24) died of a brain hemorrhage. He was only 25 years old.
As his family said about the club, Cave died early in the morning. The Canadian had suffered a cerebral hemorrhage a few days ago and had a colloid cyst removed in an emergency operation. After that he had been in an artificial coma. Now he has died of bleeding.
Cave’s wife Emily wrote in the statement: “We are very sad that our Colby Cave passed away this morning. Our two families are in shock, but we know Colby was loved by us, his family and friends, the entire ice hockey community, and many more. We thank everyone for their prayers during this difficult time. ”
His teammate Draisaitl had also hoped to the end, sent requests for recovery and wrote via Instagram: “My prayers are with you and your family, Colby.”
Cave made his debut in the NHL for the Boston Bruins in 2017 and switched to the Oilers in 2019.
