Goalkeeper Cory Schneider has reportedly found his next destination, reported Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic. He adds that the guard will receive a salary of $ 700,000.

According to our collaborator, Schneider would finalize an agreement with the New York Islanders. Islanders general manager Lou Lamoriello knows the 34-year-old well from his time in New Jersey.

Schneider saw his contract be bought out by the Devils, as he was due to get his hands on $ 6 million over the next two campaigns.

A member of this organization since 2013, Schneider has had several troubles over the past three seasons, needing to gain playing time in the American League.

The former Canucks played just 13 games with the Devils last season, posting a 3.53 goals-against average and .887 save rate.

The Islanders saw Thomas Greiss leave for the Red Wings when the free agent market opened. While waiting for Schneider, they have Semyon Varlamov and Ilya Sorokin under contract as goalkeeper.

Gustafsson with the Flyers for one year

The Philadelphia Flyers have announced that they have added defenseman Erik Gustafsson to their squad.

The contract is for one season and will net the former Calgary Flames $ 3 million.

The one who went from the Chicago Blackhawks to the Flames last season had three points in seven regular season games with the Alberta roster.

The 28-year-old Swede was selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the fourth round of the 2012 draft.

He played 221 games on the Bettman Tour, recording 119 points.

Richardson with the Preds

The Nashville Predators have signed forward Brad Richardson to a one-season, $ 1 million contract.

The 35-year-old veteran will be in his 16th season in the National League.

Last season, he was limited to 11 points in 59 games with the Arizona Coyotes.

Besides the Coyotes, Richardson also ended up with the Avalanche, Kings and Canucks.

New contract for Kahkonen

The Minnesota Wild settled another goaltending record by avoiding arbitration with Kappo Kahkonen, who signed a new two-season contract.

The agreement is two-part for the first year, and one-part for the second.

The 24-year-old Kahkonen appeared in five games for the Wild last year, posting a 3-1-1 record, 91.3% save percentage and 2 goals-against average. 96.
