NFL: Brady doesn’t go to Tennessee, Titans extend with Tannehill

The Tennessee Titans have extended their contract with NFL quarterback Ryan Tannehill, the team said. The Titans say goodbye to the race for superstar Tom Brady, whose contract with the New England Patriots had expired.

Tannehill had led the franchise to the semi-finals of the playoffs last season and is expected to receive up to $ 118 million for four years, according to US media reports. $ 62 million of this is said to be guaranteed. The Titans announced the extension with the 31-year-old, but gave no information about the exact duration and wages.

Tannehill had come from the Miami Dolphins in March 2019. During the past season he replaced Marcus Mariota as a starter. The Titans had eliminated defending champions New England Patriots and Brady in the wildcard round and made it to the Conference Final, where they failed because of the later Super Bowl winner Kansas City.

The four-time Super Bowl MVP Brady is currently without a contract and can freely negotiate with teams, the Titans were considered interested.
