This Wednesday it was revealed that a group of Colombian soldiers was accused of raping an indigenous girl from the Embera-Chamí people in the department of Risaralda. Therefore, the authorities began an investigation, military sources reported.
Much has been said regarding this case, but the statements of the journalist, Salud Hernández, have raised harshness in more than one citizen.
In its most recent column of opinion entitled, “Now they do want life imprisonment“Semana’s journalist revealed details that she said occurred on the day the little girl was abused.
In her version she details that “Last Saturday, they tell me, the girl accompanied two other emberas from her reservation to visit two soldiers who had become friends.”
He comments that the two companions of the little girl were of legal age, she accompanied them, left them in the shelter and left the place.
But according to Hernández, the girl liked one of the soldiers, so she decided to return later and alone.
“But he had liked a man in uniform and returned to visit him, without notifying his family. On that second occasion, he suffered horror in one of the cambuches that the military had installed in front of a school, near the urban area of Santa Cecilia,” relates the columnist.
According to Salud, the small indigenous woman was raped by six of the uniformed workers in turn, while the seventh watched.
But in addition to this version, Salud Hernández praises the courage of both the abused little girl and her sister to report the case.
“They never suspected that the girl was going to reveal her tragedy, they thought that she would die of fright for her weapons and uniform,” he writes about the brave girl and her complaint.
