News blog: More than 15,000 companies in Saxony-Anhalt rely on short-time work

Throughout 2009, there had been only 4,000 ads. Last year 280 short-time ads were placed in Saxony-Anhalt. If the application is approved, employees in Germany receive up to 60 percent of the lost net wages. Those who have children get up to 67 percent.

Briefly explained: the path to short-time work benefits
If an employer wants to switch to short-time work, he must first arrange this with the workforce and then report it to the Federal Employment Agency. It then checks whether the requirements are met. Only then can short-time work benefits be applied for.

11:36 am | In the event of a quarantine violation for immigrants: severe penalties

For violations of the from Friday applicable mandatory quarantine fines of up to 25,000 euros are threatened for incoming travelers from abroad. According to the Federal Ministry of the Interior, the federal and state governments have agreed on a nationwide model regulation that should already apply to Easter traffic.

According to this, foreigners and returning Germans must first go into 14-day domestic isolation after a “stay of several days abroad” in order to clarify a possible infection. Exceptions apply to commuters, business travelers, freight traffic and transit travelers. The following penalties are imminent:

  • Failure to observe the quarantine “directly” into “your own home”: 150 to 3,000 euros
  • In case of violation of the requirement to report to the authorities: 150 to 2,000 euros
  • Disregarding the fact that a visit from outside the household may not be received in quarantine: 300 to 5,000 euros.

In Saxony-Anhalt, the Friday starts at 0:00 a.m.

11:13 am | Money released for free restorers

The Dessau-Wörlitz Cultural Foundation is pleased to receive 22,500 euros for the restoration of works of art. According to the foundation, the money is provided by the Ernst von Siemens Cultural Foundation and is intended to support freelance restorers in the Corona crisis. They were in need because museums are currently closed. In the Gothic House in Wörlitz Park, nine wooden panels can be renewed with the money. In Mosigkau Castle, the money is put into a painting, a brass chandelier and a decorative frame. Their restoration is now preferred, it said.

10:54 am | Clergymen: “Easter laughter can be contagious”

Easter is at the weekend – and the festival will probably be different than ever. The Evangelical Church in central Germany has now teamed up and, given the exceptional location, has published a common Easter word. It says that the Easter message is not subject to a contact ban.

We will remember these months in spring 2020 for a long time. And we will not be the same. These experiences will leave their mark. Not just bad. How much of the supposedly unspeakable it just doesn’t need! Of course, face-to-face fellowship is lacking, and no online Easter can fill the empty space of a church filled with prayer and singing, trumpets and choirs. Bread and wine cannot be tasted virtually, drinking from a goblet cannot be simulated. Easter is different this year. But the Easter message is not subject to a contact ban. The Easter laugh can be contagious.

10:42 am | Fraud when applying for Corona emergency aid: No case so far in Saxony-Anhalt

North Rhine-Westphalia is now stopping emergency aid payments for companies in the Corona crisis due to suspected fraudulent websites. This became known a few minutes ago. In Central Germany, there have been few attempts to defraud when applying for Corona emergency aid, the MDR magazine Umschau researched. There were a few suspected cases in Thuringia, but not in Saxony-Anhalt and Saxony, according to the responsible banks.
