A reception in honor of the Ajoie Hockey Club was held on Tuesday 11 February in Porrentruy. The Jura government congratulated the victorious team of the Swiss Ice Hockey Cup 2020. The Executive praised the sporting performance of the HCA, the success of an entire club and the fervor of the Jurassians.
By its exploit, the Ajoie Hockey-Club managed to gather and make vibrate a whole canton. The date of 02.02.2020 will remain engraved in the annals and will henceforth be part of the key dates which will have marked the Jura sport and more broadly the Republic and Canton of Jura. The Jura government hosted the Ajoie Hockey Club this Tuesday, February 11, 2020 in Porrentruy at an official reception.
The Executive warmly congratulated the players, the coach, the board of directors and the many volunteers of the club who all, in their own way, contributed to the success of the “yellow and black”. Without forgetting the thousands of Jurassians who went to Lausanne to support the HCA during this final.
Beyond the sporting achievement, the Jura government has noted the popular enthusiasm that this event has generated. HCA’s victory in the Swiss Cup final against HC Davos provided the canton of Jura with magnificent collective momentum and indescribable fervor.
This event also offered an influence and an admirable image of the canton and its population far beyond our borders. Important sporting, human and collective values have been conveyed through this Ajoulot feat.
Sunday, February 2, at the Vaudoise Aréna in Lausanne, there was much more than an ice hockey match. The HCA, the Jurassic men and women have demonstrated that with talent, hard work, a big heart and unity, it is possible to overturn mountains. Such moments can remain a source of collective inspiration for confidently contemplating the future of the Jura.
During the reception in honor of the Ajoie Hockey Club, the Jurassic Government presented the club with a check for 40,000 francs. The contribution comes from the Government’s Public Utility Fund fed by the profits of the Loterie romande.
