The second double header this season and in modern NASCAR history will take place this weekend at Michigan International Speedway. The back-to-back race on Saturday and Sunday is the 21st & 22nd race of the Regular Season 2020. During the Corona pandemic, which is still spreading rapidly in America, only a few spectators can attend the race. Of course, continue with the appropriate precautions.
The Michigan International Speedway has been an integral part of the NASCAR calendar with two races per year since the 1969 season. In 1973 there was only one event. Issues 102 and 103 will follow on the weekend on the two-mile super speedway. It is the fastest NASCAR oval with an average of over 200 mph. The cars reach a speed of almost 350 km / h on the straight before curve one. The Superspeedway is located near Brooklyn on an area of more than 1,400 hectares in the ‘Irish Hills’ in southeast Michigan.

The curves of the D-oval are over 18 degrees. Banking on the start-finish straight is twelve degrees and the back straight is only five degrees too high. The race distance was reduced to 312 miles for both races and is divided into three stages over 40, 45 and final 71 laps.
Six of the last 13 races were won from pole position in Brooklyn. Last year Joey Logano and Kevin Harvick won for the third time. Previously, Kurt Busch, Matt Kenseth and Kyle Larson had three victories on the Superspeedway. All-time record winner is David Pearson with nine successes in only 17 races between 1969 and 1978. Most recently there were only Ford victories in four races.
