The coronavirus pandemic has exceeded 139 million cases worldwide after adding almost 600,000 on the last day, at a time when the limit of three million deaths is also being reached (so far, there have been 2,986,608 deaths), according to published data this Friday by Johns Hopkins University. This Thursday, Brazil recorded 3,560 deaths due to the new coronavirus, which brings the total number of fatal victims of the disease in the country to 365,444, according to the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Health. National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass). By 8 votes to 3, the Supreme Federal Court ratified this Thursday the annulment of the condemnations of former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in Operation Car Wash. The sentence practically seals Lula’s fate in the 2022 elections, as he returns his political rights previously vetoed because of the convictions for corruption that framed him in the Clean Record Law.
