New York’s Millrose Games canceled for 2021 due to health crisis

(Belga) The traditional meeting in the athletics hall of the Millrose Games in New York, scheduled for February 13, is canceled for 2021, announced the organizers quoted by the portal Insidethegames.biz on Friday, due to the health crisis of Covid- 19.

The Millrose Games were to integrate the World Athletics Indoor Tour which brings together six major indoor meetings. “Canceling the famous Millrose Games is a very difficult decision, but with the health crisis and the complexity that it creates to organize such an event, with the risks that this entails for athletes, officials, volunteers, the media and all other actors, we have decided to wait until February 12, 2022 to organize our next edition, “explained Ray Flynn, the director. The World Athletics Indoor Tour is due to start on January 29 in Karlsruhe in Germany before joining the United States on February 6 in Boston and then returning to Europe, in Liévin in the North of France on February 9. The tour will stop in Torun, Poland on February 17 and end on February 24 in Madrid, Spain. (Belga)
