New York viewing platform “The Edge” reopens

New York.
At a height of 335 meters, visitors can now take a look over Manhattan again. Because of Corona, many sights in New York were closed.

Just a few days after its opening, the new New York viewing platform “The Edge” had to close in March due to the coronavirus pandemic – now it is opening again.

Since September 2nd, visitors have again been able to access the tapered, glass terrace on the 100th floor of the “30 Hudson Yards” skyscraper in west Manhattan, as the operators announced.

There are limited opening times and visitor capacities as well as distance and hygiene rules

Employees of medical facilities can visit the platform free of charge until the end of the year. The walkable work of art “The Vessel”, which consists of 154 different staircases with almost 2500 steps and is also located in the Hudson Yards district, should now be accessible again to visitors.

According to the operator, “The Edge” is the highest publicly accessible outdoor viewing terrace in the western world at 335 meters. It offers a panoramic view over the whole of New York and into the neighboring state of New Jersey. The three other large public viewing platforms in the metropolis – “One World Observatory” on the One World Trade Center, “Top of the Rock” on Rockefeller Center and the platforms of the Empire State Building – have already opened again for some time.
