New York suffers a new record of hospitalizations, the highest number since June – Telemundo New York (47)

More than 2,100 New Yorkers have been hospitalized for coronavirus as the rate of infections rises across the state and the rest of the nation.

Governor Andrew Cuomo’s office announced Tuesday that another 156 patients were admitted to hospitals across the state on Monday. So far, a total of 2,124 people are being treated for the deadly virus, the highest number since the beginning of June. Of those, 408 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit and 176 are connected to respirators.

The state also recorded the highest number of positive tests in months with 5,088, or 3.18%, of 159,852 results recorded Monday that tested positive.

Cuomo said it’s up to New Yorkers to abide by health restrictions over the next several weeks to prevent the crisis from becoming more acute as the holidays approach and cold weather begins.

These tips can help you get the most out of your appointments while staying more “We all have a role to play; wear a mask, maintain physical detachment, avoid large and small gatherings and religiously wash your hands, “Cuomo said in a statement. “Our actions today determine our positive case rate tomorrow – it’s that simple.”

Cuomo noted that his administration is focused on hyperlocalized strategy to combat the increase in cases, although it does not rule out broader closures.

“For me, this is simple. They are mathematics. We follow science and we have our hand on a valve. When the infection rate increases, we begin to close the valve until the infection rate decreases, “he noted.

While the governor ordered a shutdown of indoor consumption at 10 p.m. in bars, restaurants and gyms and limited private gatherings to 10 people, some counties will not abide by the measure.

Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office Michael Zurlo issued a statement Monday noting that the edict will not be enforced.

“I don’t see how to devote our resources to counting the cars at the citizens’ driveways or investigating how much turkey and seasoning they have bought,” said Zurlo, who encouraged residents to follow the restrictions.
