New York Stocks End: Dow shows weakness with Apple virus worries 18/2/20

NEW YORK (dpa-AFX) – In view of a sales warning from Apple, Wall Street came on Tuesday with losses from the long weekend. The news from the technology group made investors worried again about the consequences of the spread of the corona virus.

The Dow Jones Industrial (Dow Jones 30 Industrial) ultimately lost 0.56 percent to 29,232.19 points. The leading index thus returned from its record level of 29,500 points from the previous week and posted the third day in a row with a negative sign.

In the broad market, the S&P 500 fell 0.29 percent to 3,370.29 points. On the technology-heavy Nasdaq stock exchange, the picture was more stable despite the price slide at Apple. With price gains at Tesla as a counterweight, the selection index NASDAQ 100 went 0.06 percent higher at 9629.80 points across the finish line./tih/he
