The New York Historical Society announced this on Tuesday (local time). The paintings, drawings and sculptures were created between the 19th and 21st centuries and all showed scenes, parks, buildings or people in New York – such as the Brooklyn Bridge, Gramercy Park or a restaurant in the Harlem district.
An exhibition is planned for autumn 2021, the museum said. Currently, the New York Historical Society on Central Park in Manhattan is closed due to restrictions in the coronavirus crisis.
