Street noise and honking yellow taxis? The clatter of dishes, conversations and laughter in a packed restaurant? A subway full of people? Many New Yorkers are currently missing all these noises in the Corona crisis. The city library of the metropolis has now collected and published them online. “Missing Sounds of New York” is an “audio love letter” to the metropolis, according to the New York Public Library NYPL. “It’s a playlist with the sounds of normal New York, the noises that are missing in this time of self-isolation and that New Yorkers miss,” said a NYPL spokeswoman.
