New York breakfast bagel recipe


The hearty breakfast bagel with bacon and fried egg is super filling and delicious.

While you can also get filled bagels from the bakery in this country, these are no comparison to the lavishly filled breakfast bagels in America. The motto: the more layers and the more ingredients, the better! Anyone who wants to bring the American bagel culture home is guaranteed to do so with this recipe. Cream cheese and avocado cream combined with cheddar, bacon, fried eggs and some maple syrup make the bagel super juicy, flavorful and creamy.

Ingredients (for 2 people):

  • 2 Bagels

  • 100 grams of cream cheese

  • 6 bacon strips

  • 2 Owner

  • 2 spring onions

  • 100 g Cheddar

  • 1 tomato

  • 1/2 Avocado

  • 4 tablespoons maple syrup

  • salt and pepper


  1. Fry the bacon in a pan until crispy (no oil necessary). Add some maple syrup while frying. Then drain on a plate lined with paper towels.

  2. Cut the spring onions into small pieces. Cut the tomato into thin slices.

  3. Fry two fried eggs in another pan.

  4. Pit the avocado and carefully remove the flesh and mash with a fork.

  5. Mix the avocado with the cream cheese and season with salt and pepper.

  6. Cut the bagel lengthwise and spread with the avocado and cream cheese mixture.

  7. Grate cheddar and spread on both cut surfaces.

  8. Then top with tomatoes, spring onions, bacon and fried egg. The fried egg can also be served on a plate next to the bagel.

  9. The delicious and hearty breakfast bagel is ready, which is guaranteed to keep you full until lunch!
